How Much Does Paint Protection Film Cost in Minneapolis? (2026 Prices)

ULTRAFIT paint protection film installed in Minneapolis by Tint Pros

Almost nobody publishes what paint protection film actually costs. You get “call for pricing,” or a starting number that has nothing to do with the quote you eventually receive. This guide gives you both: our published 2026 package prices, and what customers genuinely paid across the PPF jobs we finished this year at our two Twin Cities shops. If you are still deciding whether film is the right product at all, start with what paint protection film actually is.

Minneapolis PPF Prices at a Glance (2026)

Coverage What it covers Starting price
Partial Front The highest-impact strip of the front end $1,199.99
Full Front Full hood, full fenders, front bumper, mirrors $1,799.99
High Impact (Track) Full front plus the additional panels that catch debris at speed $2,499.99
Full Vehicle Every painted panel $5,499.99

Finish upgrades are priced on top of any package: matte or satin is $1,000 over gloss, and color shift film is $2,000 over gloss. What each package includes panel by panel is laid out on our paint protection film Minneapolis page.

What people actually pay: those are starting prices for straightforward vehicles. Across the PPF jobs we completed between January and September 2026, full-front installs had a median price of $2,705, with the middle half of customers landing between $2,170 and $3,676 (166 jobs). Full-vehicle coverage had a median of $7,946, middle half $6,650–$9,194 (132 jobs). Bigger trucks, complex bumpers, and finish upgrades are what move you up that range.

Full front coverage — hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors. This is the tier most Minneapolis drivers end up on, and the one the $1,799.99 starting price refers to.

What Actually Changes the Price

1. How much of the car you cover

This is most of the spread. A partial front protects the leading edge where the majority of highway chips land. Full front adds the rest of the hood and fenders, which is where the labor jumps — wrapping a whole hood in one piece without a visible seam is the hard part of this job. Full vehicle covers every painted panel, and you can see finished examples of all three levels in our recent work.

2. Vehicle size and body complexity

A Model 3 and a Ram 2500 are not the same amount of film or the same amount of work. Deep bumper vents, sharp character lines, wide fenders, and split spoilers all take extra relief cuts and extra time. Two vehicles on the same package can be $1,000 apart for this reason alone. EVs are their own case — we cover why in PPF for EVs, and Teslas have a dedicated page at Tesla paint protection film. Cybertrucks are handled through Cybertruck customization.

3. Film and finish

ULTRAFIT is one of the PPF lines we install, alongside STEK, SunTek, and LLumar. Clear gloss is the standard. Matte or satin film changes the look of the paint underneath and adds $1,000; see matte paint protection film and the side-by-side in gloss vs matte PPF. Color shift film adds $2,000 — more on that in does PPF come in colors. Clear and matte PPF carry a ten-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship; colored film is warranted differently.

4. Paint condition before we start

Film is optically clear, so it locks in whatever is underneath it. If the paint has swirls or light scratches, correcting them first is the difference between protected paint and permanently preserved swirls. That prep is a separate line on the quote, and on a used car it is usually worth it. Owners who want the rest of the car covered too often pair film with a ceramic coating.

Is Cheap PPF Ever Worth It?

PPF is one of the few categories where the install matters as much as the product. The failure modes of a rushed job are all visible from three feet away: lifted edges that collect dirt, stretched film that hazes, relief cuts in the wrong place, blades used on the car. And because film bonds to the clear coat, fixing a bad install means removing it first. The honest trade-offs of the product itself are in PPF pros and cons.

The way to think about the money: full-front film on a late-model vehicle costs roughly what one repaint of a chipped hood costs, and it keeps the factory paint — which is the panel that actually holds resale value. If you keep cars a long time or put on a lot of interstate miles, that math gets better, not worse. Paint Protection Film Cost FAQ

How much does full front PPF cost in Minneapolis?

It starts at $1,799.99. Across our 2026 installs the median full-front job came to $2,705, with most customers between $2,170 and $3,676 depending on vehicle size, bumper complexity, and finish.

How much is full-car paint protection film?

Full vehicle coverage starts at $5,499.99. Our 2026 median was $7,946, with the middle half of jobs between $6,650 and $9,194 — larger trucks and SUVs sit at the upper end.

Does matte PPF cost more?

Yes. Matte or satin film is $1,000 over gloss on any package, and color shift film is $2,000 over gloss. Both are shown on the matte PPF page.

What does PPF cost on a specific car?

Body shape moves the number more than badge does. For a worked example on one vehicle, see what PPF cost on a 2026 BMW.

How long does PPF last?

Clear and matte films carry a ten-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Colored film carries a different warranty term — we will tell you which applies before you book.

Is PPF or ceramic coating better value?

They solve different problems: film stops physical impact, coating makes the surface easier to clean and protects against chemical etching. Most owners who do both put film on the front end and coating over the rest. We break it down in PPF and ceramic coating: what each does best.
