The Cybertruck has no paint and no clear coat. It is bare stainless steel, so everything you know about protecting a car changes here. Film and vinyl go straight onto metal, fingerprints and water spots show instantly, and there is no repainting a panel you scratch. We have been filming Cybertrucks in the Twin Cities since they started landing here.
About Cybertruck Customization
Two things drive most Cybertruck jobs. One is keeping the stainless clean: the panels are enormous and flat, they hold every fingerprint, and iron fallout off Minnesota roads can leave orange speckling on bare steel. The other is color, since the truck only comes one way. Film and vinyl are the only ways to change that, and both come back off.

Cybertruck Customization SERVICES
Four services, and most owners combine them. PPF over the stainless in clear, satin, or color. Full vinyl wraps for a color change. Ceramic coating to cut down on fingerprints and make washing faster. Ceramic tint for the side and rear glass, which matters more here than on most vehicles because of how much glass this truck carries.
High-Gloss, Matte, and Color Options
Cybertruck PPF
Looking for Cybertruck protection? PPF on a Cybertruck is not paint protection, because there is no paint. It is a urethane layer over bare stainless that stops the scratches and scuffs that are a real job to correct on a brushed steel panel, and it seals the metal off from the iron fallout and road salt that leave orange speckling. Color PPF is the popular pick here: it changes the truck’s look and still self heals. Satin and matte tone down the mirror finish without going to a full wrap. See how one came out in our aurora magenta colour-shift Cybertruck build.

Cybertruck Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coating on a Cybertruck is mostly about maintenance. Bare stainless shows every fingerprint on the door and the bed rail, and hard water spots dry onto it fast. The coating puts a slick barrier over the steel so prints wipe off, water sheets instead of sitting, and winter salt brine has a harder time bonding. It works over PPF too.

Cybertruck Wraps
A wrap is the fastest way off stainless. The Cybertruck’s panels are big, flat, and sharply creased, which means fewer compound curves than a normal truck but far less room to hide a seam, so panel layout gets planned before any vinyl is cut. Gloss, satin, matte, color shift, and printed graphics are all on the table, and it all comes back off.

Ceramic Window Tint For Cybertrucks
The Cybertruck’s windshield is the largest piece of glass on any production vehicle, and it turns the cab into a greenhouse. Minnesota does not allow aftermarket film on a windshield, so the heat gets handled through the rest of the glass. Front sides have to stay above 50% VLT here, and on a pickup like this the rear glass can go darker. Ceramic film is metal free, so it will not interfere with antennas, the key card, or sensors.
Long-Term Benefits For Stainless Steel Care
COLOR PPF
Changes the truck from silver to whatever you want and still self heals light scratches. Protection and color in one layer.
MATTE / HIGH-GLOSS PPF
Kills the mirror glare off the stainless, or pushes it the other way. Matte gives a flat, non reflective satin look. High gloss reads closer to painted metal. Both shield the steel from scuffs and fallout.
VINYL WRAPS
The most affordable route to a full color change, with printed graphics available. Vinyl covers the stainless completely and peels off later without leaving anything behind on the steel.
Our Cybertruck Coating Process
Vehicle Evaluation
We go over the stainless panel by panel, noting scuffs, fallout speckling, and any prior film, then map coverage before anything is prepped. On a Cybertruck the panel layout drives where seams land, so this step decides how the finished truck reads.
Surface Preparation
The steel is washed and chemically decontaminated to pull embedded iron particles off the surface. Skipping that traps fallout under the coating or the film, where it keeps working on the stainless and nobody can get to it.
Coating Application
Coating goes on by hand in a clean indoor bay, then gets leveled and buffed before it flashes. Cybertruck panels are large and flat, which shows a missed high spot from across the parking lot.
Curing Period
The truck stays indoors while the coating hardens. Rain, road salt, and temperature swings during that window can affect how the layer bonds, so it does not leave the shop until it is ready. Take the loaner and we will call you.
